Captain Catering offers an experience unlike any charter in the Chesapeake Bay, U.S. Virgin Islands, Key West & beyond.

Founded by a sailor with a heck of an ability to cook, Captain Catering was brought to life by Captain Michael Howard. Before pursuing his USCG Master license, Michael attended The Culinary Institute of America eventually working for impressive restaurant locations in the Hudson Valley, Chicago, and Baltimore. He has gained extensive knowledge of global cuisine through his lengthy travels to Southeast Asia and brings his unique flair for flavor into everything he cooks. His love for sailing is met with the amazing expertise of itineraries in locations near and far. His passion is working with his guests to expand their sailing abilities or introduce new sailors to the watersport he’s participated in for a lifetime.

After his restaurant experience on land, Captain Michael desired a return to the sea and found a way to perfectly weave his two incredible talents while crewing his charters with his partner, Jacqueline Mearman.

Jacqueline also attended The Culinary Institute of America and the two met while employed as chefs at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore. For a few years, they went different directions - Michael began his adventure into private dining while Jacqueline became the Corporate Pastry Chef for a large restaurant group. As the world began to shut down in 2020, the two set sail on new courses. Michael dove deeper into captaining and catering for charter guests. Jacqueline opened her take-out restaurant in Baltimore serving breakfast and lunch. Eventually, the amount of business Michael was experiencing required an extra set of hands and Jacqueline began accompanying him on his more luxurious charters.
